The American Coalition for Taxpayer Rights (ACTR) – the national trade association for America’s largest tax software and tax preparation companies, which assist in the preparation and filing of more than 100 million individual federal and state income tax returns each year – today sent a letter to the Honorable William (Billy) H. Long II following his confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as IRS Commissioner.
It says, in part, “ACTR members look forward to working closely with you and your team at the IRS to deliver an efficient and seamless tax-filing experience for the American taxpayer, and being your partner on a wide range of important tax administration issues, including those noted below. …The private-sector companies in our 12-member, voluntary coalition serve approximately 110 million of the more than 150 million Americans who file federal income tax returns each year – the most direct and crucial financial interaction that the vast majority of Americans have with their federal government. Our members, through their expertise and experience, make the tax-filing process efficient and accurate, and as productive as possible.”
